The White Knight II (also known as the White Knight Two or WK2) is a modern American experimental jet-powered transport aircraft. The prototype flight took place in 2008. The propulsion is provided by four Pratt and Whitney PW308 jet engines.
The White Knight II was constructed by the American company Scale Composites, by two designers: Robert Morgan and James Tighe. The plane was largely based on the design solutions used in White Knight One, but it is almost three times larger than its predecessor, it also uses completely different engines, also has a different fuselage shape and a completely different tail. It also uses numerous technological innovations not used in White Knight One. The main goal of the White Knight II is to launch the Space Ship Two into orbit. However, it is also planned as one of the first sub-orbital tourism aircraft.
