The De Tomaso Pantera was an Italian sports car that was first presented to the public in 1970 in Modena and later at the New York Auto Show in the same year. The production of the model lasted from 1971 to 1993. In total, only 7,260 copies of this car were made. The Pantera model was developed and put into production in order to replace the De Tomaso commercial offer of the Mangusta model. Like its predecessor, the new model was a 2-door coupe, but the design of the body was changed, as well as the power unit. The steering system as well as the weight distribution and center of gravity were also improved and modernized. Tom Tjaarda and Marcello Gandini were responsible for the design and design of the new car. The De Tomaso Pantera drive was provided by a Ford Cleveland engine with a capacity of 5.8 liters and a maximum power of 330 HP. The main markets for this successful car were the United States and Italy. The company’s offer was replaced by the Guara model.
